About Prosperity Retail

Rooted in Kutch. Crafted by hand. Carried across the world.

Artisan at work

Born from the Soil of Kutch

Prosperity Retail was founded with one clear purpose: to bring the timeless artistry of Kutch directly to homes around the world. We work hand-in-hand with local craftspeople — potters, mud artists, mirror workers — who have inherited generations of skill.

Every piece we offer carries the story of its maker: the clay shaped by their hands, the mirrors pressed into wet earth, the patterns that encode centuries of tradition. We are not just a store; we are a bridge between the artisan's workshop and your living room.

Based in the Kutch region of Gujarat, India, we operate as a micro, small & medium enterprise committed to fair trade, artisan welfare, and cultural preservation.

Our Craft Specialisations

Each craft we champion has its own language — of colour, texture, and meaning. Here is a closer look at the traditions we preserve.

Terracotta craft

Terracotta Work

Sun-baked earth shaped into sculptures, cookware, and decorative pieces. Our terracotta artisans use iron-rich Kutchi clay and fire it in traditional kilns, producing warm, earthy tones that are utterly timeless.

Mud work craft

Mud Work

A tactile art of relief patterning using natural clay compounds applied directly to walls and objects. Rooted in the Rabari and Ahir communities of Kutch, mud work transforms everyday surfaces into intricate narratives.

Mirror work craft

Mirror Work (Shisha)

Tiny convex mirrors hand-stitched or hand-pressed into fabric and clay. Each mirror catches the light differently, creating ever-shifting brilliance. A hallmark of Kutchi textile and craft traditions for over three centuries.

Lippan art

Lippan Art

Lippan is a wall art technique combining mud and camel dung as a base, inlaid with mirror fragments and geometric patterns. Originating in the bhungas (round huts) of Kutch, it now adorns contemporary interiors worldwide.

Every decision we make — from which artisans we partner with, to how we pack and ship — is guided by these principles.
